Wednesday, Jeb, our aging springer spaniel, bit my wife Sherry on the hand and wrist. Bless her heart. He literally took a whack out of the hand that feeds him. Result: They have put her in the hospital today for "several" days to for an IV antibiotic to kill the infection, this after another doctor didn't get the job done. For Sherry, and people like her, these are difficult (and dangerous) situations since they are allergic to penicillin. As for Jeb, he is fine, but we are now more than a little worried about his sanity. On the other hand, he has his argument as well. If we decide, however, that senility drove him to do it, then he goes to sleep. Can't have a dog biting folks for no reason, especially his mom.
What the hell and all that, don't you think it odd that Sherry and I both find ourselves in the hospital almost within one day? I wouldn't have bet on such a thing ever. She is doing fine, however, and her friend Nancy is taking up some of the home slack and my sister is on the way. My doc does not want me walking the floors of any hospital anywhere. I hope Sherry gets some relaxation out of this as well. She certainly deserves it. But this is one of those medical emergencies you are happy takes place in 2008 and not 1908 when such an infection most likely would have been fatal.
But that pretty much sums life at the Foster household at the moment. Not unhappy, but certainly perplexing. I did do the Torisel today and not noticed much of anything, other that a slight hangover from the bag of Benydryl. But it is difficult to hold writer thoughts, so I am moving on now. All prayers for Sherry would be much appreciated.
Worst tasting medicine of all time: Some salty, syrypy crap they give you to fight kidney stones. On the other hand what is one of the most painful things in the world, kidney stones. There is such balance in nature.
Hi Dave and Sherry,
One of my favorite sayings.."If you want to make GOD laugh...tell him your plans!" So sorry this happened to Sherry..i am sure it is especially hurtful because it was your trusted friend. Good comes from all things..and so, I hope Sherry "allows" herself a bit of a break..ok..its not a day spa..but maybe nice to have someone care for her! Both of you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Praying for your Knight, Dave. Jeb could probably use some as well, I imagine.

OMG David it never rains but it pours, poor Sherry. She is always in our prayers (she is a fellow Knight) but we will do double duty for her now. My God you two need a break. Please keep us posted on how things are going with both of you.
