So this lady asks me at the pharmacy last night how I think it is best to defend against cancer. What the hell is she talking about? One does not defend against cancer, as in looking for someway to keep it from kicking your ass. To the contrary, one must set out from the beginning to kick cancer's ass. This is truly one of those issues where a good offense makes for a great offence. Not once during the almost two years I have been kicking the crap out of my cancer have I concerned myself about defensive positions. That does not mean I don't get a little down once in a while (I did last week), but that's more from weariness with the whole business than any letting up on the tumors. But, you may say, they invaded and, therefore, it is a defensive action to get rid of them. You can say that, but I believe they did not invade. Instead they rose from the DNA and must be sent back to whatever hellhole within that DNA they came from. Therefore, while they live blissfully unaware that they are invaders I am doing every thing possible, from the psychological to the spiritual to the medical to kill them. They took their territory almost two years ago and it takes an aggressive offensive action to kill them off. Well, enough self-serving blather. Went to the Doc this morning and he told me my offense is doing a pretty good job. The three brain tumors are still there, but he expected that since it takes some three months for them to disappear from radiation. He was pleased there were no new tumors (and as you can guess I was as well). My other five or six are still camped in the torso but they aren't growing. And I dare them to try. I begin a new round of Sutent today and sometime in the next week my feet may begin to hurt terribly. But instead of saying, "Oh gosh my feet hurt" (defensive self pity), every time I take a step I think: "take that you mutants. Back into your dark liars and leave me and my family the hell alone." Does it work? Still here. Must be doing something. At any rate I remain far from death's dark little door. And don't let any mass of mutant cells tell you otherwise. They are not only stupid, but they lie like crazy. As usual I thank you for your continued support, thoughts and, most of all, your prayers. Dave
